GA Telesis Launches WILBUR Platform Website to Support Aviation Industry
Introducing a Digital Revolution in Aviation Asset Management
GA Telesis, LLC has officially launched the website for its Worldwide Integrated Lifecycle Blockchain Unified Registry (WILBUR), accessible at www.wilbur.aero. Developed by the company’s Digital Innovation Group (DIG), WILBUR represents a significant advancement in the aviation sector’s approach to tracking, certifying, and valuing aircraft, engines, and components on a global scale. This platform is designed to replace the fragmented and paper-based documentation systems that have long characterized aviation asset management, offering a secure, digital alternative that addresses the complexities of today’s aftermarket environment.
For decades, the aviation industry has relied on manual processes to verify the provenance and airworthiness of its components, a method increasingly inadequate given the scale of asset movement through maintenance, leasing, and transfers. WILBUR transforms this landscape by converting traditional documentation into secure digital tokens recorded on a globally distributed smart contract blockchain. This patented technology creates immutable lifecycle records that encompass birth documentation, trace history, installation and removal events, and all relevant airworthiness certifications. Importantly, tokens can be generated at any stage of a component’s operational life, facilitating the migration of both new and existing fleets into the digital registry.
At the core of WILBUR lies a proprietary hierarchical token architecture that digitally links parts to assemblies, engines, and aircraft, establishing an interconnected registry tailored to support the increasingly complex global aviation supply chain. The concept, initiated by GA Telesis founder and CEO Abdol Moabery in 2019, is protected by multiple patents covering its advanced tokenization framework. Jason Reed, President of GA Telesis’ Digital Innovation Group, emphasized the platform’s significance, stating, “This is more than the launch of a website. It is the first public step toward building a digital backbone for aviation asset traceability.” He highlighted WILBUR’s capacity to enable instant, secure, and global verification of aviation asset lifecycle and provenance.
Industry Context and Future Prospects
WILBUR aligns with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) broader vision to modernize aviation data management and digital documentation standards. GA Telesis plans to initiate beta testing of the platform in summer 2026 within its Flight Solutions Group and MRO Services divisions. Early operational trials are expected to include participation from two major U.S. airlines, with wider industry adoption anticipated in 2027.
The platform’s rollout occurs amid significant challenges facing the aviation sector. Ongoing conflict in the Middle East has disrupted global supply chains, reducing air cargo capacity and increasing costs. These disruptions have intensified scrutiny of GA Telesis’s ability to deliver parts and services, given its dependence on air cargo logistics. Competitors may seek to exploit these vulnerabilities by adopting alternative logistics strategies or expanding their service offerings to fill gaps created by operational disruptions.
Despite these headwinds, GA Telesis remains steadfast in its commitment to driving digital transformation in aviation asset management. The launch of WILBUR marks a critical step toward establishing a more secure, efficient, and transparent future for the industry.
