The new aircraft will gradually replace KLM’s aging Airbus A330-200, A330-300, and Boeing 777-200ER models on intercontinental routes. The first A350-900 is expected to serve the Amsterdam–Toronto Pearson (YYZ) route, likely taking over the current KL695/696 service.
